Abstract

The article presents the results of the application of scanning electron microscopy for the study of the chemical composition and microstructural characteristics of the metals that were used to manufacture the components of the winged and aviation missiles of the aggressor country. A mathematical model of signal generation when applying the method of scanning electron microscopy is presented.

The analysis of the results of the study of metal fragments of cruise and aviation missiles, obtained during hardware research using the JXA-8200 X-ray microanalyzer manufactured by JEOL Ltd (Japan) and the JSM-6490LV scanning electron microscope with the INKA Energy 350ХT energy dispersive spectrometer, is presented.

Research results indicate that metal fragments of russian-made cruise and aircraft missiles are titanium alloys and consist of four main chemical elements (Ti, Al, V, Mn), but they have different concentrations.

Studies of the chemical elements concentrations of the specified fragments materials showed that there is no complete coincidence of the concentrations of the chemical elements of the fragments with the concentrations of the titanium alloys presented in the year book of steels and alloys of Ukraine. That is, there are no complete analogues among Ukrainian titanium alloys. At the same time, there are matches for some chemical elements. For example, the Al and Mn concentrations of the 3M-14 cruise missile engine fragment of the Caliber complex are within the same limits as the Al and Mn concentrations of the Ukrainian titanium alloy OT4-1 (titanium deformed alloy, application – thin-walled parts of a complex configuration, which for a long time work at a temperature of 300 °C). And the Al and V concentrations of the R-37 aviation missile body fragment correspond to Ukrainian titanium alloy 14 (titanium deformed alloy, used for the production of graded rolled products, the production of ingots and semi-finished products for the production of special equipment parts, aircraft and instrument construction parts).
