Abstract

The article discusses the problematic aspects and critical situations of a conceptual nature that arise at the present stage of development of the armed forces and their weapons systems. An analysis is made of the best practices of the leading countries of the world in resolving some emerging deadlock situations, in the further development and application of high-tech and high-tech complex military systems and technologies.
Based on the provisions of the national military strategies and coalition strategies of the allied countries, questions are formulated on the development, including innovative change, of the armed forces and their weapons systems, taking into account the projected resource limitations. Examples are given of the further development of armaments and military equipment (IWT) in some areas, such as unmanned aerial vehicles and manned aircraft, as well as on innovative proposals for the development of weapons and arising problematic issues, the transformation of relevant key and guiding documents, the formation of a number of integrating concepts, roles scientific, technical and technological groundwork in preparation for a new type of war. It is indicated that the functions of strategic nuclear deterrence will gradually shift towards strategic non-nuclear deterrence.
Considerable attention is paid to the substantiation and selection of the rational composition of promising weapons and military equipment, which form the basis of the weapons systems of the future, and the use of the appropriate scientific and methodological apparatus.
