THE ROLE OF THE PROGRAM OFFICE IN ENSURING THE QUALITY OF WEAPON SYSTEMS DURING THE LIFE CYCLE

This publication is about the fact that ensuring the quality of weapons during the life cycle is one of the most important tasks today. To improve defense planning, the authors propose a program office that will provide a systematic approach to the development, production, operation and modernization of weapons and takes into account the requirements of Euro-Atlantic integration. This problem is very relevant today because the quality of products affects the competitiveness of enterprises, consumer satisfaction and the economic development of the country.
One of the important areas of increasing the effectiveness of program management of defense resources is the development and use of the monitoring and evaluation system. It contributes to the constant analysis of the internal processes of activity and their adjustment as necessary. This makes it possible to achieve socially significant measurable results. This makes it possible to obtain objective and up-to-date information for management decisions by the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.
The purpose of the article is to highlight the role of the program office in ensuring the quality of weapons during the life cycle on the example of specific programs and projects. The program office contributes to the improvement of the quality of weapons by coordinating the actions of project participants, providing methodological and technological support. It analyzes risks and opportunities and prepares reports and recommendations for management. The authors prove that special attention in the program office should be paid to the high quality of weapons at the first stages of its life cycle, namely at the stages of: scientific and research work, research and development work, approval of working design documentation and conducting state tests. All this will ensure its reliability and efficiency in the future.
