The main focus in the field of improving information technology in artillery land forces of NATO member countries is, first of all, ensuring the interoperability of their tactical systems C2 and C4I; the realization of the concept of a joint digital fire (Joint Daigital Fires); enhancement of the capabilities of the ground-based system of the ISTAR (intelligence, surveille, target acquisitions, and reconnaissance). One of the key areas in this context is the activity within the framework of the multi-ethnic Artíllery Systems Cooperatio Activitization (ASCA) standardization of the data interface for targeting artillery units.
