The analysis of modern systems and means of identifying objects on the battlefield in the lines "earth-land" and "aircraft-land" according to the information of automatic radio programs about their troops using radio-marking and target identification equipment on the basis of the "request-response" principle the most attention in the world. The principles of construction and functioning of systems and means of identification on the battlefield, their achieved tactical and technical characteristics are considered. The experience of Ukrainian industry in the development of means of identification on the battlefield is highlighted.
