Critical technologies for creating heavy-and medium-class ground-based robotic systems

The article analyzes foreign research and world experience in the field of military robotics; analysis of approaches to the organization of development of groundbased robotic systems of heavy and middle class, taking into account the economic and technological development of the developing countries; assessment of the state of development and comparative analysis of their main technical characteristics.
The analysis of modern armed conflicts allowed us to determine the most important combat tasks of groundbased robotic systems of heavy and medium class and their conceptual outlines.
The analysis of the main technical characteristics and design features of domestic samples is carried out. They were developed by Ukrainian enterprises for their own working capital on a volunteer basis and have been repeatedly demonstrated at international exhibitions of weapons. It is noted that in Ukraine today there are no systematic approaches to creating multifunctional ground-based robotic systems for ground forces. There is no strategy for their use in advanced combat operations for performing special tasks and military operations. It is suggested that the basis of strategic planning for the use of ground-based robotic systems and planning for equipping the Ukrainian armed forces with them should be a political decision and a program for reforming the Ukrainian armed forces, which will indicate the place and role of ground-based robotic systems in performing combat and special tasks. Based on the analysis, a list of critical technologies necessary for creating domestic ground-based robotic systems of heavy and medium class at the level of foreign counterparts has been developed. The main components of certain critical technologies are described in detail and short-term, medium-term and long-term horizons for their development are defi ned.
The article suggests the main approaches to creating such domestic complexes and also indicates the main efforts that are advisable to concentrate to eliminate the lag behind the world leaders in the field of creating military robots.
Recommendations are given for the implementation of the necessary priority organizational measures and system steps to create ground-based robotic systems of heavy and medium classes in special conditions.
