Regulations on the Use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Scientific Publications

  1. General Provisions
  • These Regulations define the rules for using AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, and other generative models) during the preparation of materials for publication.
  • The use of AI does not exempt the author from personal responsibility for the content of the work, the accuracy of the data provided, and the absence of academic plagiarism.
  • Artificial Intelligence cannot be listed as an author or co-author of an article, as authorship implies the creative activity of a natural person (individual).
  1. Permissible Scope of AI Application

Authors are permitted to use AI for:

  • Linguistic Correction: Improving style, and correcting grammatical and punctuation errors in the text.
  • Technical Data Processing: Assistance in formatting reference lists or structuring rough notes.
  • Source Searching: Provided that there is mandatory subsequent manual verification of their existence and content (to prevent the fabrication of citations).
  1. Prohibited Applications (Integrity Violations)

The following are considered unacceptable:

  • Generating AI Text as One’s Own: Publishing AI-generated text under the guise of original academic results without proper disclosure.
  • Generation of Scientific Hypotheses and Conclusions: AI cannot replace the author's intellectual contribution in forming scientific novelty.
  • Creation of Falsified Data: Using AI to invent (fabricate) or manipulate experimental results, charts, or images.
  1. Disclosure Requirements (Declaration)
  • If AI technologies were used during the writing of the article, the author is obliged to report this within the text of the work.
  • The declaration must include:
  1. The name of the model used (e.g., GPT-4).
  2. The purpose of use (e.g., translation or stylistic editing).
  3. The generation methodology (description of queries/prompts, if significant to the research).
  • In the absence of such notification, the detection of signs of AI-generated text is regarded as the dishonest use of AI results and constitutes grounds for rejection or retraction of the article.
  1. Reviewing Policy
  • Reviewers are prohibited from uploading manuscripts into AI tools for evaluation or for writing reviews.
  • This violates confidentiality policies and the intellectual property rights of the authors.
  • Editors reserve the right to use specialized software to detect signs of unauthorized AI use in submitted materials.
