Abstract

In the article the preconditions for the emergence and development of unmanned ground vehicles for the needs of the armed forces are considered. A brief evaluation of the state of security around Ukraine was carried out. The most urgent threat to Ukraine remains the armed aggression of the Russian Federation. It is shown that the limited capabilities of the national economy and financial resources complicate the rearmament of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The need for the development and production of unmanned ground vehicles for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine was confirmed. It has been established, that Ukraine has real opportunities to use the latest technologies to form an asymmetric potential to counter Russia’s armed aggression against Ukraine.
To create the conditions necessary for the development of unmanned ground vehicles, it is necessary to create an effective management system for their development, combine the capabilities of domestic manufacturers, equip units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with promising unmanned ground vehicles and increase the competitiveness of domestic manufacturers. But today in Ukraine there are problematic issues that hinder the development of domestic unmanned ground vehicles. A list of problematic issues hindering the development of domestic unmanned ground vehicles has been determined. The main problematic issue is the lack of common views on the development of unmanned ground vehicles for the needs of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Other problematic issues include: insufficient effectiveness of military scientific research, imperfect mechanisms of publicprivate partnership in the development and production of unmanned ground vehicles, low level of cooperation with NATO and EU member states. Proposals for solving the indicated problematic issues are substantiated.
