Author Guidelines and Submission Procedure
Manuscript Submission Procedure
- Submission Method: Materials must be submitted exclusively through the electronic platform of the journal "Weapons and Military Equipment".
- Publication Language: The article is submitted in both Ukrainian and English.
- Compliance Confirmation: Upon submission, authors must confirm the manuscript's compliance with all established requirements. If non-compliance is identified, the editorial office will return the materials for revision.
- Supporting Documents: Authors are required to provide documents confirming the results of a plagiarism check.
Our journal employs a double-blind peer review system. This means that the identities of both the authors and the reviewers are concealed from each other throughout the review process.
To maintain this anonymity, authors are required to submit two separate files:
1st file: Full text of the manuscript
This file is not sent to reviewers. It must include:
- The full title of the article.
- Full names of all authors.
- Affiliations (institution, department, city, country) for each author.
- Contact details of the corresponding author (e-mail, ORCID).
- Acknowledgments, funding information (grants), and conflict of interest statements.
2st file: Full text of the manuscript
This is the main body of the paper to be sent to experts. It must not contain any information that could identify the authors.
Text Formatting Requirements "Full text of the manuscript":
- Remove Names: Ensure that no author names or institutional affiliations appear on the first page or anywhere in the text.
- Anonymize Self-Citations: Instead of "As we previously noted (Petrenko, 2022)," use the third person: "As noted by Petrenko (2022)" or "Previous studies have established...".
- Conceal Locations (if critical): If the name of your institution or a specific geographical location unequivocally identifies you, use general terms (e.g., "a university in City X" instead of the specific university name).
How to Remove Personal Data (Metadata)
Before submission, you must clear the document's hidden properties:
For Microsoft Word:
- Open the file and go to the File
- Select Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document.
- In the dialog box, ensure the Document Properties and Personal Information box is checked.
- Click Inspect, then click Remove All next to the found metadata.
- Save the file.
Please Note: If the editorial office identifies information within the manuscript file that de-anonymizes the authors, the paper will be returned for revision before the review process begins.
