A universal numerical method is proposed for determining the stiffness and inertial mass characteristics of equivalent smooth shells that approximate the wafer sections in the dynamic analysis of launch vehicles. The “smoothing” technique is illustrated by the example of amplitude-frequency analysis of a fragment of a wafer cylindrical shell of a wafer structure of the head fairing of the launch vehicle. The effectiveness of the method is confirmed by a comparative analysis of 10 natural frequencies and vibration modes and its smooth-shell approximation.
