In the article, based on the analysis of scientific, technical, industrial, technological and regulatory aspects, a set of measures is proposed to extend (increase) the established resource indicators weapons and military equipment, as well as the creation of comprehensive conditions for their subsequent safe operation without author supervision from the developers. The analysis of forecasting methods that can be applied in predicting the technical state of weapons and military equipment, shows that the most acceptable in this sense is the method of V.S. Pugachev, based on orthogonal representations of the random process that is being studied.
