In the war with Ukraine, russia is actively using POM-3 (Medallion) mines, which have recently been adopted. To increase combat effectiveness, the mine is equipped with an ejection warhead. At the command of the electronic unit, an emission charge is detonated, after which the warhead of the mine «jumps» to a height of about 1−1.5 m above the ground. At this height, the main charge is detonated, which is responsible for scattering debris and damage to enemy work force. A feature of the POM-3 mine design is the presence of a seismic target sensor and an electronic mine unit. These devices make it impossible to neutralize. At the end of the established period of operation, the mine is self-destructed. The results of research of the acoustic sensitive element of the POM-3 mine are presented, the design feature of which is the presence of a seismic target sensor and an electronic mine unit. It is established that the acoustic sensitive element belongs to the vector receiver of the power type. Its construction consists of two vertically placed rectangular plates made of piezoceramics, on the upper and lower edges of which certain masses are placed. The directional diagram and frequency response of the acoustic sensing element are given. It is concluded that both piezoceramic and electrodynamic sensors of the POM-3 mine have the same resonant frequency, which allows unifying the electronic part of the mine relative to the sensors. Information on the experience of building vector receivers at a Ukrainian company is presented. Samples of fundamentally different vector receivers − inertial and power type are given. Technical ways of construction of the acoustic device of neutralization of the POM-3 mine are offered. The analysis of possibilities of creation of domestic seismic sensors for mine armament is carried out.
