STRENGTHENING SECURITY AND PROTECTIVE COMMUNITY ON THE EUROPEAN CONTINENT IN THE CONTEXT OF A FULL-SCALE WAR OF THE RUSSIA FEDERATION AGAINST UKRAINE

Considering the aggression of the russian federation against Ukraine, it is very important to study the problem caused by the current state of the European security system in the context of today's global threats. In the context of new challenges facing the European community, it is obvious that in order to ensure peace and security it is necessary to combine the efforts and capabilities of as many EU member states as possible. Given the desire to play a strong and, above all, unique role on the world stage, cooperation is not just an opportunity, but also an obligation of EU Member States.

The European continent, historically rich and diverse, faces a number of security and defense challenges. The growth of geopolitical instabilities, cyber threats, terrorism and other factors are becoming important determinants that require a joint response and coordination of efforts from the countries of the European Union.

This article examines various aspects of strengthening the security and defense community in Europe, identifying key initiatives, their impact on the geopolitical context and prospects for further development. From the involvement of third countries in joint defense projects under the Permanent Structured Cooperation Initiative (PESCO) to an analysis of challenges and prospects, the article reveals how joint efforts can ensure stability and security on the European continent in an era of complex challenges and changes.

In this context, the PESCO initiative has become important, the goal of which is to unite the countries of the European Union into a harmonious and effective defense community. PESCO acts as a key element of the strategy to strengthen security on the European continent and contributes to solving modern challenges.
