In this paper, the authors consider one of the essential components of military security of the state – military technological security, or military security in the military technological sphere. It demonstrates that the essence of the military technological component of military security is to ensure the parity not of force but of security. Particular attention is concentrated on the issues of world experience in intensifying innovation in defense industry. It shows that full consideration of global trends in the development of innovation in the defense industry and critical use of the positive experience of developed countries, especially the United States, is of undoubted practical interest for the development of domestic defense industry. Of course, it is necessary to take full account of the peculiarities of the innovation sphere of Ukraine, its innovation culture and the main competitive advantages. The materials of the article can be useful for specialistsтin the defense sphere of Ukraine at the initial stages of activities aimed at ensureing the current level of military security of the state
