Abstract

A universal numerical method for smooth-shell approximation of the wafer plating of the biconical compartment of the head fairing of liquid launch vehicles has been proposed. The “smoothing” technique is illustrated by the example of the determination by the finite element method of stiffness and inertial mass characteristics of an orthotropic smooth-shell model of a typical biconical section of a sash for carrying out amplitude-frequency analysis of the head fairing.
