The current state and tendencies of mine defense development of the leading countries of the world are considered in the article, the main directions of development of ship and aviation components of mine defense systems and their components are determined. Architectural and design features of mine defense ships are considered. It is determined that the programs of development of new means of mine defense provide for the creation of certain systems in accordance with certain delimitations of the sea in depth. The possibilities of the laser mine detection system, its design features and the possibilities of combat application are analyzed. It was found that autonomous surface, underwater unmanned and remote-controlled devices should be a mandatory element of the mine defense system. Recommendations on the creation of a mine defense system of the territorial sea of Ukraine are given.
Sea mine weapons today remain an effective means of combating and deterring naval theaters of war. Due to low cost, ease of storage, maintenance and ease of installation, it has been widely used. According to modern sources of information, in the arsenals of more than 50 countries there are more than 300 thousand sea mines of almost 300 types. More than 30 countries are capable of producing sea mines and more than 20 are their exporters. This type of weapon is in service with all maritime powers.
With the improvement of the tactical and technical characteristics of sea mines and the expansion of possible areas of their application, the danger of mines for warships, civilian shipping and marine infrastructure is increasing. It is especially large in coastal areas.
The mine threat requires a comprehensive solution to this problem, taking into account the experience of advanced maritime powers.
The purpose of the article is to analyze the current state and trends in mine defense of the world's leading countries and to make recommendations for the creation of a mine defense system of the territorial sea of Ukraine.
In the conditions of armed aggression of the russian federation and, as a consequence, blocking of seaports, obstruction of civil navigation by exposing sea mine barriers requires immediate creation of a system of mine defense of the territorial sea of Ukraine. The development of modern mine defense requires a systematic approach and understanding of the interrelated processes of monitoring the surface, underwater environment, search, detection and destruction of sea mines. Mine defense, as a subsystem, must be integrated into the State Integrated Surface and Underwater Lighting System.
Lack of domestic resources for symmetrical confrontation with the aggressor country in mine defense, forcing the creation of a mine defense system based on the experience of advanced maritime powers and purchase from them some means of mine action. The development of military underwater robotics is a key topic in the mine defense system of any maritime state.
